A Couple Podcasts for the Halloween Season

A Couple Podcasts for the Halloween Season

Halloween season is upon us and to set the mood, here are two of my favorite podcasts.

Welcome to Night Vale is a tongue-in-cheek radio show set in a small fictional town called Night Vale. Imagine listening to NPR but they talk about supernatural horrors. This one's a lot of fun.

The Magnus Archives is a story seen through the eyes of a new archivist for the Magnus Institute. As he commits written statements about the supernatural to audio, weird things start to happen. This is very well done too.

Listen to Welcome to Night Vale

WELCOME TO NIGHT VALE is a twice-monthly podcast in the style of community updates for the small desert town of Night Vale, featuring local weather, news, announcements from the Sheriff's Secret Police, mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events.
Turn on your radio and hide.

Listen to the Magnus Archives

The Magnus Archives is a weekly horror fiction anthology podcast examining what lurks in the archives of the Magnus Institute, an organisation dedicated to researching the esoteric and the weird. Join new head archivist Jonathan Sims as he attempts to bring a seemingly neglected collection of supernatural statements up to date, converting them to audio and supplementing them with follow-up work from his small but dedicated team.
Individually, they are unsettling. Together they begin to form a picture that is truly horrifying because as they look into the depths of the archives, something starts to look back…
